  • Vivo NEX S, NEX A With 6.59″ Display, Pop-up Front Camera Launched in China

VIVO, the Chinese Smartphone Manufacturer has just announced its flagship offering series dubbed as ‘NEX’ in China. the company launched Vivo Nex S with an in-display fingerprint scanner, powered by Snapdragon 845 SoC, 8GB RAM, and upto 256GB built-in storage and, the toned-down variant Vivo Nex A, powered by Snapdragon 710 SoC, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage, and a rear facing fingerprint sensor.

The USP of Vivo Nex S and Vivo Nex A are the Pop-up selfie camera that comes in and out whenever you open the camera app, the company claims that it has tested the Pop-up selfie camera over 50,000 times, and has built it with a stainless steel housing which can withstand strong pulling force and torsion force. it has been designed keeping in mind to offer the ultimate full screen experience which it has nearly achieved with 2.16 mm ultra-thin bezels on the top, and overall a 91.24-percent screen-to-body ratio.

The Vivo Nex S and VIVO Nex A also features 7.1-channel 3D audio and surprisingly, doesn’t includes an earpiece, it instead comes with a new Sound Casting Technology, which reproduce sound waves by vibrating the screen, similar to technology which was first introduced with Xiaomi’s Mi MIX. the technology is said to offer better bass and softer treble. the device also comes with the third-generation in-display fingerprint scanner which the company claims is more powerful and offers 50-percent more accuracy, overall improving the unlocking speed upto 10-percent. it runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with a AI-powered new UI dubbed as Energy UI, and comes with Jovi AI voice assistant with a dedicated hardware button. the company has partnered with Tencent, NetEase and Unreal for making its Game engine, which comes with system-level SDK optimization for an ultimate gaming experience with game mode 4.0.


Vivo Nex S Price

The Vivo Nex S is priced at at CNY 4,498 (approximately. Rs. 47,400) for 8GB RAM with 128GB storage variant. whereas, the top-end variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at CNY 4,998 (roughly Rs. 52,600). both, the variants will go on sale starting from June 23rd in Diamond Black and Ruby Red colour options.


Vivo Nex S specifications

The Vivo Nex S bears a 6.59-inch (2316×1080 pixels) Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with 19.3:9 aspect ratio, and DCI-P3 color gamut. it is powered by an 2.8GHz 64-bit Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 10nm Mobile Platform paired with Adreno 630 GPU. the device is available in 8GB RAM / 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM / 256GB storage configurations. it runs on FunTouch Operating System 4.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo, and is fueled by a massive 4,000 mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging support. as mentioned earlier, the device comes with In-display fingerprint scanner, unlike its younger sibling which boasts a rear mounted fingerprint sensor.

In the camera department, the device sports a dual rear camera setup which consists, a 12-megapixel Sony IMX363 (primary) sensor with dual-core pixels, 4-axis OIS, f/1.8 aperture, dual-tone LED flash and another 5-megapixel secondary sensor with f/2.4 aperture which captures depth-of-view for portrait shots. it also includes features such Portrait Bokeh, AR Stickers, Slow Motion, and Back-light HDR on the rear camera along with AI scene recognition and AI filter which automatically adjust the camera settings in real-time. on the front, there’s 8-megapixel Pop-up selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture.

Connectivity option includes Dual SIM, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz) 2×2 MIMO , Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS + GLONASS, USB Type-C with OTG support, 3.5mm audio jack, and CS43199 + SSM6322 Amplifier. it measures at 162 x 77 x 7.98 mm, and weighs at 199 grams.
