Sony Mobile, the Japanese smartphone manufacturer has always up the ante when it comes to camera technology in modern smartphones. the company is taking it a step further this time with its latest offering Sony Xperia XZ2, World’s first smartphone with 4K HDR movie recording capabilities. Following its international debut at Mobile World Congress, 2018, The Sony Xperia XZ2 has finally landed in India.
The Sony Xperia XZ2 is priced set at Rs. 72,990 in India and will be made available via authorised Sony Center’s and selected offline channels only in Liquid Black colour option.
The Sony Xperia XZ2 sports a fluid 3D glass surface which reflects ambient colours and shine from every angle with the flow of light. it comes with single rear camera which is positioned closer to the centre, and just beneath it there’s a fingerprint scanner for company. the device comes with IP65/68 rating and is designed to withstand splashes, spills and unexpected showers. it is crafted with aesthetics and usability together and delivers a seamless shape that’s fits perfectly in your hand. the display comes with minimum bezels at the top and bottom to accommodate the sensors and logo respectively. it features sound enhancing technologies with LDAC which offers High-Resolution Audio, and DSEE HX technology which lifts the ante for compressed files making them sound closer to the original recording.
The Sony Xperia XZ2 bears a 5.7-inch 18:9 Full HD+ (1080 x 2160) TRILUMINOS HDR Display along with X-Reality display engine and Corning Gorilla Glass 5. it is powered by an Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform paired with 6GB of RAM. the device comes with 64GB UFS internal storage and supports storage expansion up to 400GB via microSDXC support. it runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the box and is fueled by an 3,180 mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology with Wireless charging (Qi) support and Smart STAMINA mode which i guess works more or less like battery saver.
In the camera department, which is its USP, the device sports a 19-megapixel Motion Eye camera with f/2.0 aperture, 1/ 2.3” Exmor RS sensor, 1.22μm pixel size, Sony’s award-winning 25 mm wide G Lens, 960 fps Super slow motion video, x8 Digital Zoom, Autofocus burst, 4K HDR Movie recording, Predictive Hybrid Autofocus, Triple image sensing technology, and SteadyShot with Intelligent 5-axis stabilization mode.
On the front, there’s an 5-megapixel with f/2.2 aperture, 1/ 5” Exmor R sensor, and 23mm wide angle lens.
Connectivity option includes Dual Nano SIM, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, A-GPS, NFC, USB Type-C (3.1 – Gen1), WiFi Miracast, DLNA, and Google Cast. the device comes with USB Type-C to 3.5mm Audio Jack Adapter and offers Automatic Headphone Optimization, VirtualPhones Technology, Stereo Recording among others. it measures at 153 x 72 x 11.1 mm, and weighs at 198 grams. the device is available in Liquid Black, Liquid Silver, Deep Green, and Ash Pink color options.
