Samsung Mobiles, the South Korean based multinational electronics company is gearing to announce their 2018 flagship lineup in the ‘Samsung Galaxy S’ with the launch of Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus on February 25 Unpacked event, right before the Mobile World Congress scheduled in Barcelona, Spain.
Tipster, Evan Blass who has made this habit of surprising everyone of us has shared the device leaked renders and specification just ahead of its launch. the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus code-named internally as “Star” and Star 2″ carry forwards the same design from its predecessor Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus with smaller bottom bezels and minor refinements.
The company’s earlier shared the Unpacked invitation which revealed that both, the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus will feature major upgrade on the camera front, with motion detect and the ability to capture ‘Super Slow-mo’ videos in 480 fps at 720p and will feature variable aperture on the primary camera with a mechanical adjustment which switches between a larger F/2.4 and smaller F/1.5 aperture.

According to rumours, The Samsung Galaxy S9 features a 5.8-inch Quad HD+ (2960 × 1440 pixels) Super AMOLED Infinity display with pixel density of 570 ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, while, the elder sibling Galaxy S9 Plus features a larger 6.2-inch Quad HD+ (2960 × 1440 pixels) Super AMOLED Infinity display with pixel density of 529 ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. both, the devices will be powered by an Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 mobile platform paired with Adreno 630 GPU in the United States and China, while for the Rest of World it will shipped with the company’s in-house Samsung’s Exynos 9810 chipset paired with Mali G72MP18 GPU.
On the storage front, The Samsung Galaxy S9 is packed with 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM with 64GB of internal storage. while, The Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus is packed with 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM with 128GB of internal storage. both, the devices supports storage expansion via MicroSD card and runs on Android 8.0 Oreo update.
On the optics front, The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus as mentioned earlier sports a 12MP Dual Pixel rear camera with LED Flash, f/2.4-f/1.5 variable aperture, and 480 fps super slo-mo video captures. it will also sport 8MP auto focus front-facing selfie camera with wide-angle lens.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus will come with an IP68 rating for Water and dust resistant, Stereo speakers, and Ultra High Quality Audio Playback. The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus will be backed by an 3000 mAh and 3500 mAh battery respectively with fast Charging support on both wired and wireless charging.
Connectivity option includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4/5GHz), VHT80 MU-MIMO, Bluetooth 5, GPS/GLONASS, USB 3.1, and NFC. it also on-boards Accelerometer, Barometer, Fingerprint Sensor, Gyro Sensor, Geomagnetic Sensor, Hall Sensor, Heart Rate Sensor, Proximity Sensor, RGB Light Sensor, Iris Sensor, and Pressure Sensor.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus is expected to go on sale starting from early March 2018.
