Samsung Electronics has today extended its portfolio of the ‘Note’ series with the launch of Samsung Galaxy Note 9 at the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2018 held in New York. the device comes with a new improved S Pen stylus and has gain few more weight with newer functionalities, and it is also touted to sport Samsung’s most intelligent camera with feature such as Scene Optimize, Flaw Detection.

It’s designed for a level of performance, power and intelligence that today’s power users want and need,” said DJ Koh, President and CEO of IT & Mobile Communications Division, Samsung Electronics. “Note fans are Samsung’s most loyal; we know they want it all, to get the most out of work and play, and Galaxy Note9 is the only phone that can keep up with their busy lives.”

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 price, availability

The Samsung Galaxy Note9 is priced in the US at $999 (approx ₹68,800 | €867) for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, and at $1,250 (approx ₹86,000 | €1,084) for the 8GB RAM and 512GB storage variant. it will be available for pre-booking starting from August 10, and will go on sale starting from August 24 in Midnight Black, Lavender Purple, Metallic Copper with matching S Pen, and Ocean Blue with a Yellow S Pen colour options. The Samsung Galaxy Note9 price in India is set at ₹67,900 for the 128GB storage variant, and ₹84,900 for 512GB storage variant. you can buy the device from Amazon India.

 

 

 

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 specs

The Samsung Galaxy Note9 features a 6.4-inch Quad HD+ (2960×1440 pixels) Super AMOLED Infinity display with 18:5:9 aspect ratio, 516 PPI Pixel density, and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. the device will be powered by a octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 mobile platform paired with Adreno 630 GPU in the US market, whereas, in other market it will be powered by a octa-core Samsung Exynos 9 Series 9810 processor paired with Mali G72MP18 GPU. it comes with support for the fastest network speeds available in the market with up to 1.2 gigabits per second to stream and download without slowing down, and a industry-leading and Samsung developed Water Carbon Cooling system and on-device AI-based performance adjusting algorithm to deliver the powerful yet stable performance.

As mentioned earlier, the device comes in two storage configurations — the standard variant with 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 128GB storage, and the premium variant with 8GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 512GB storage. both, the variant would support storage expansion upto 512GB via MicroSD card.   • Flaw Detection : The first shot doesn’t always come out right, but the Galaxy Note9 lets users know if there’s something wrong, so they can take another picture without losing the moment. An immediate notification will appear if the image is blurry, the subject blinked, there is a smudge on the lens, or there’s backlight impacting the quality of the image.

The Samsung Galaxy Note9 comes with a IP68 rating for water and dust resistance and is packed with defense-grade Knox security platform and biometric security options including fingerprint sensor placed on the rear, iris scanning, facial recognition capabilities, and Intelligent scanning which combines iris scanning and facial recognition for convenient unlocking making sure your private information stays private, safe and secured.


New improved S Pen stylus

The S Pen is the signature feature of Galaxy Note series, and is now not just a tool for writing and drawing. it is now improved and offers you more power and control with Bluetooth Low-Energy (BLE) support.

On the click of button, It can now take your selfies, group pictures, act as remote to control your presentation slides, pause and play video. infact, Samsung stated that even developers can integrate the S Pen’s new, advanced BLE functionalities into their apps later this year.

Notably, the Bluetooth Low-Energy (BLE) support requires power and for that you need to charge it, which infact happens automatically when you inject it in the device. the company claims just 40 seconds of charging, easily lasts for 30 minutes, or for 200 button clicks.

The S Pen stylus measures at 5.7 x 4.35 x 106.37 mm, and weighs at 3.1 grams.


PC-like experience with Samsung DeX

The Samsung Galaxy Note9 offers a PC-like experience with the help of Samsung DeX, by simply connecting the device with a monitor via a USB Type-C to HDMI adapter. it can can power a virtualized desktop and even serve as a fully-functional second screen. Take notes with the S Pen while watching a video, or use Galaxy Note9 as a trackpad, to right-click, drag and drop, and use multiple windows on a monitor.
