After the massive success of Redmi Note 4 which achieved the feat of becoming the fastest device to sell over 1 Million devices in India in just 45 days. Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer at a launch event held in New Delhi, India has today finally launched Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro, the successor of the company’s most popular smartphone till date.
The Redmi Note 5 Pro sports a 5.99-inch 18:9 Full Screen (2160 x 1080 Pixels) FHD+ Display along with 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla glass, a pixel density of 403 PPI, 84% NTSC color gamut, Color temperature adjustment and Reading mode. the device is powered by octa-core Snapdragon 636 mobile platform paired with 4GB/6GB LPDDR4X RAM. the device runs on MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat update. it is packed with 64GB of on-board storage and supports storage expansion up-to 128GB via MicroSD card.
On the optics front, the device as mentioned earlier sports a dual camera setup which is a combination of 12-Megapixel primary sensor with 1.25μm pixel sensor, F/2.2 aperture and a 5-Megapixel secondary lens with 1.12μm pixel sensor, F/2.0 aperture. it features single tone flash, Phase Detection Autofocus, Enhanced low-light photography, Panorama, Burst mode and Face recognition technology.
The device also sports an 20-Megapixel front facing selfie shooter with 1.0μm pixel sensor, f/2.2 aperture, Beautify 4.0, Selfie-light, Selfie timer and Face recognition technology.
The Redmi Note 5 Pro is backed by a massive 4,000 mAh lithium-ion polymer battery capacity with system-level MIUI optimizations which offers up-to 19 days of standby time, 14 hours of video playback, and 8.5 hours of hardcore gaming. it is further coupled with Qualcomm Quickcharge 2.0 technology.
The device is packed with hybrid SIM tray with support for nanoSIM + nanoSIM/microSD. When two SIM cards are used simultaneously, the primary SIM supports 4G+/4G/3G/2G calling and data while the secondary SIM supports only 3G calls.
Connectivity option includes WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac 2.4G/5G, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/A-GPS, Infrared sensor, and Audio jack. it on-boards Electronic compass, Accelerometer, Proximity sensor, Infrared, Ambient light sensor, Gyroscope and Hall sensor. the device measures at 158.6 x 75.4 x 8.05 mm and weights at 181 grams.

Pricing and Availability
Coming to the pricing, The Redmi Note 5 Pro is priced at Rs.13,999 for the 4GB RAM variant and Rs. 16,999 for the 6GB RAM variant. both, the variants will go on sale in India starting from 12:00 Noon on February 22 via Mi.com, Flipkart and Mi Home offline stores. the device is available in Lake Blue, Black, Gold and Rose Gold colour options.
