OnePlus 6T, the next flagship offering from Chinese smartphone maker Oneplus was unveiled at a launch event held in New York on October 29, 2018. The highlight feature of latest flagship killer from OnePlus is its 6.41-inch Optic AMOLED display with a tiny “Waterdrop” notch which houses ambient light Sensor, distance sensor, RGB sensor And a front-facing camera. It is largest display ever featured on a OnePlus device, offers true immersion through an 86-percent screen-to-body ratio, beautifully slim cut-out, subtle curves create a sense of flow that mesmerizes every time you look at or hold it. The glass design visually transforms in different lighting conditions. it also comes with  improved water and dust resistance.

The other key component which separates OnePlus 6T from its predecessor is Screen Unlock — a new in-screen fingerprint sensor which unlocks the device, moment your finger lands on the display for a seamless and intuitive unlock experience.

Oneplus is the first smartphone company to introduce in-fingerprint display smartphone in the US. the in-fingerprint display recognises the impression in 0.34 seconds and unlock the phone.

In terms of optics, The OnePlus 6T sports a dual rear cameras setup, same as its predecessor with a 16-megapixel primary Sony IMX 519 sensor with f/1.7, PDAF (phase detection autofocus), 1.22 µm pixel size, optical image stabilization, electronic image stabilization, Dual LED flash, and a Secondary 20-megapixel Sony IMX 376K sensor with f/1.7, PDAF (phase detection autofocus), 1.0 µm pixel size. the smartphone comes with AI Scene Detection, Portrait Mode, Pro Mode, Night Mode, Panorama, Time-Lapse, HDR, HQ, Studio Lighting, RAW Image.

In terms of video recording, the smartphone shoots 4K resolution video at 30/60 fps, 1080P resolution video at 30/60 fps, 720P resolution video at 30 fps. Notably, it also captures Super Slow Motion 1080p video at 240 fps, and 720p video at 480 fps. there’s also an built-in video editor which allows you to trim and filter videos, manually add slow motion and apply reverse and loop effects

On the front, there’s a 16-megapixel front-facing shooter for selfies and video calling, and face Unlock feature with Sony IMX 371 sensor, F/2.0 aperture, Fixed Focus, and 1.0 µm Pixel Size. it also features Portrait Mode, HDR, Screen Flash, Studio Lighting, Smile Capture, and Face Retouching. In terms of Video recording, it is capable of shooting 1080P resolution video at 30 fps, and 720P resolution video at 30 fps.

The OnePlus 6T is powered by a 2.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 10nm mobile platform with Adreno 630 GPU. on the storage front, the company has discarded the 64GB storage variant, it is now available in 128GB / 256GB (UFS 2.1)  storage options with 6GB LPDDR4X RAM /128GB (UFS 2.1) storage, 8GB LPDDR4X RAM / 128GB (UFS 2.1) storage, and 8GB LPDDR4X RAM / 256GB storage configurations. The new smartphone algorithms work with your room to ensure faster startup speeds by actively preloading your favorite apps.

 

The OnePlus 6T enables faster download and upload speeds across the board. With support for up to 42 bands around the world and dual-SIM support. it is fueled by a 3700 mAh non-removable battery which is 23-percent increase overall from its predecessor, and keeps you going through a day’s work with battery life to spare. furthermore, the Fast Charging (5V 4A) technology offers a faster kind of fast charge which lets you up and running in just half an hour.

Conclusion : The OnePlus 6T is superb phone with top-of-the line specifications, features, and hardware. however, being a ‘T’ variant this was destined not to come with major upgradation over its predecessor. The In-fingerprint display is too fast, atleast on paper not to mentioned. it will be interesting to see how OxygenOS gels with Android 9.0 Pie, after knowing how the FSE team has work closely with Pete Lau to deliver a overall smoother experience.
