KaiOS, Here’s everything you should know about the operating system available in JioPhone

KaiOS is a new operating system for mobile. It merges the power of a smartphone with the affordability of a feature phone. The company with their partners is bringing services such as games, social media, and streaming apps to millions of users in both developed and emerging markets.

“We built KaiOS for those who can not afford or do not want to use a smartphone,” says Sebastien Codeville, CEO of KaiOS. “Our mission is to open up new opportunities for individuals, their families, and communities by making access to advanced digital services a reality for everyone.”

KaiOS already powers phones in Canada, the United States, and India through partnerships with Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Jio. Before the end of the year people in ten more countries will get access to the powerful suite of KaiOS features.

KaiOS comes with a store for apps based on HTML5 and has optimized user interface for non-touch devices and supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS and NFC. it works with chipset from all the major manufacturers and provides developers and carriers with a range of innovative back-end services. the KaiOS is known for using less memory and energy. thus, allowing it to power affordable devices with a longer battery life.

The company is headquartered in Hong Kong and has a staff of over 170 people spread across additional offices in the USA, Brazil, Hong Kong, France, India, China, and Taiwan.
