After endless rumours and leaks, Huawei has finally announced the company’s latest offering Huawei Nova 3 in China. the device comes built-in with the company’s GPU Turbo technology which offers smoother and faster gaming experience by increasing graphic processing efficiency on the device. it enhances the graphics performance of the device by up to 60-percent and at the same time consumes 30-percent less power. another key feature is its artificial intelligence (AI) powered dual rear camera setup which is capable of detecting over 500 scenes and alter camera settings automatically.
The Huawei Nova 3 bears a 6.3-inch (2340 x 1080p) Full HD+ 19:5:9 display with 2.5D curved glass lamination and 85-percent NTSC color gamut. it is powered by an 2.4GHz octa-core Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 970 10nm processor paired with i7 co-processor, NPU, GPU Turbo technology and Mali-G72 MP12 GPU. the device comes in two storage configuration variants – 6GB RAM with 64GB internal storage, and 6GB RAM with 128GB internal storage. both, the variants supports storage expansion up to 256GB via MicroSD card. it runs on Emotion UI 8.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo and is backed by a 3,750 mAh battery with fast charging capabilities. the device comes with rear facing fingerprint sensor and is packed with Face Unlock technology which uses infrared light to detect face even in dark conditions.
In the camera department, the device sports a dual rear camera setup includes a 16-megapixel primary sensor with LED flash, f/1.8 aperture, Phase Detection AutoFocus, paired with 24-megapixel secondary sensor with f/1.8 aperture which capture depth-of-field for portrait shots. it is also equipped with AI scene recognition technology which as mentioned earlier detect 500 scenes and adjust camera tone accordingly. on the front, there’s another dual camera setup which consist of a 24-megapixel primary sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. the front camera also comes with 3D Qmoji which is built on the lines of Apple’s Animoji feature.
Connectivity option includes Hybrid Dual SIM (nano + nano / microSD), dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac (2.4GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS/A-GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm audio jack. the device measures at 157.0 x 73.7 x 7.3 mm and weighs at 166 grams.
The Huawei Nova 3 is already available for pre-order from Vmall in China. the device is priced at CNY 2999 (approx USD 446) for the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage variant and will go on sale starting from July 20th.
