Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has today launched a new device targeted at the gaming lovers within a affordable price bracket. the company has unveiled their latest gaming device Honor Play in China. the device offers an 7.1 channel 3D Histen audio and 4D gaming experience with real time recognition of the game-play which vibrates the device to intelligently matching up-to 30 different senses promising more realistic game play experience.
The highlight feature of the device besides the gaming experience is its 6.3-inch Full HD+ 19:5:9 display with a ‘iPhone X’ like notch along with a screen-to-body ratio of 89-percent. the device is powered by the company’s in-house Octa-Core Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 970 coupled with NPU and GPU Turbo graphics processing acceleration technology which offers smoother and faster gaming experience by increasing graphic processing efficiency on the device.
The Honor Play bears a 6.3-inch (2340 x 1080p) Full HD+ LCD display with an aspect ratio of 19:5:9, 85-percent NTSC color gamut and 2.5D curved glass. the device is powered by an Octa-Core Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 970 (4 x 2.4 GHz A73+ 4 x 1.8 GHz A53) 10nm processor paired with an i7 co-processor, Mali-G72 MP12 GPU, and a in-built (neural processor unit) NPU. the device comes with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage and supports expandable memory up to 256GB via microSD. it runs on Emotion UI 8.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo update and is juiced by a 3,750 mAh battery with fast charging support.
In the camera department, the device sports a dual rear camera setup with a 16-megapixel primary sensor with Artificial Intelligence features, F/2.2 aperture, PDAF, & LED flash along with a 2-megapixel secondary sensor with F/2.4 aperture which offers depth-of-view for portrait shots. on the front, there’s another 16-megapixel camera with F/2.0 aperture.
Connectivity option includes Hybrid Dual SIM (nano + nano / microSD), Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac (2.4GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, and USB Type-C. it also on-boards accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, and proximity sensor and a Fingerprint sensor (at the back). the device measures at 157.91 × 74.27 × 7.84 mm and weights at 176 grams.
The Honor Play is priced at CNY 1,999 (approx Rs. 20,900) for the 4GB RAM variant and 6GB RAM variant is priced at CNY 2,399 (approx Rs. Rs. 25,100). It is already available for pre-booking and will go on sale in China from June 11. the device is available in Black, Blue, Violet and Red color options.
