Honor, Huawei sub-brand launched the Honor 8 Pro smartphone in India. the Honor 8 Pro is the re-branded version of the Honor V9 smartphone which was launched earlier this year in China and was later launched as Honor 8 Pro in selected markets  including UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Switzerland. the company has launched only the 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage variant in India.

The highlight feature of Honor 8 Pro is its fourth generation Dual lens camera setup with 12-megapixel which offers DSLR like depth of field effects. furthermore, the retail box of the smartphone can also be used as Google Cardboard viewer for VR experience.

Design & Specifications

The Honor 8 Pro sports a ultra-thin 6.97 mm metal body and feature’s a 5.7-inch Quad HD 2K display with a resolution of 1440×2560 pixels and Gorilla Glass 3. under-the-hood, it is powered by the company’s in-house Kirin 960 octa-core processor (4 Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.8GHz + 4 Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 2.4GHz) paired with 6GB of RAM and Mali-G71 GPU – it is packed with 128GB of internal storage which is further expandable up-to 128GB via MicroSD Card support. it also feature’s a finger print sensor on the front. The smartphone packaging contains virtual reality (VR) lens that can be turned as VR headsets.

The highlight feature of the Honor 8 Pro smartphone, is its Dual Camera setup at the back which sports Dual pair off 12-megapixel sensors, one with a monochrome sensor and the other with RGB [colour] sensor along with f/2.2 aperture, Auto-Focus, LED flash, and is also capable of 4K video recording. on the front, it features an 8-megapixel camera with 77° wide-angle lens and f/2.0 aperture.

Operating System & Connectivity

The Honor 8 Pro smartphone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat update with the company’s EMUI 5.1 UI on top. it is backed by a 4000mAh battery backup. on the connectivity front, it includes Hybrid Dual-SIM, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm jack, USB 2.0, USB Type-C and NFC. it also on-board sensor which includes Hall sensor, Infrared sensor, Fingerprint sensor, Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor, Digital compass, Gravity sensor, Gyroscope and Status indicator.

Colour, Dimension and Weight

The Honor 8 Pro smartphone is available in the country in Navy Blue and Midnight Black colour options. the smartphone measures at 157 x 77.50 x 6.97 mm and weighs at 184 grams including battery.

The Honor 8 Pro smartphone is priced at Rs. 29,999 in India and will be available exclusively via Amazon India. it will first go on sale for Amazon Prime Members starting at 6PM IST on July 10 which marks the beginning of Amazon Prime Day sales and will go on open sale starting from 12AM on July 13. coming to offers, the smartphone will be available with 15 percent cashback for HDFC BANK debit and credit card users during Amazon Prime Day sales and for regular customers the company is offering 45GB 4G Data for Vodafone users over five months with no cost EMI options.
