Xiaomi has officially launched the much anticipated Mi 6 smartphone at a launch event in Beijing, China. the Mi 6 smartphone is the successor to Mi 5 smartphone which was launched at Mobile World Congress 2016. the smartphone is launched in three different variants differ by internal Storage. the one with 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage is priced at ¥ 2499 (roughly ₹23,500) whereas the one with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage is priced at ¥ 2899 (roughly ₹27,200) there is also a premium version name as Mi 6 Ceramic which comes with 18K gold plated camera rims and four sided curved ceramic body with 6GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage which is priced at ¥ 2999 (roughly ₹28,200). the smartphone will go on sale in China starting from April 28.
Coming to the hardware, the Xiaomi Mi 6 smartphone sports four-sided 3D curved glass design with Ultra-reflective mirror finish stainless steel frame. it sports a 5.15-inch FHD display (with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixel) with high color saturation, 1nit ultra-dark night display, glare reduction and blue light reduction and, is powered by a 64-Bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC (World’s first 10nm chip processor which is smaller than a coin) clocked at 2.45GHz paired with 6GB of RAM and Adreno 540 GPU. it also comes with a new generation of game-level image technology: Vulkan 3D rendering API which can achieve realistic 3D graphics and more efficient GPU computing performance.
The highlight feature of the Mi 6 smartphone is its dual-camera setup at the back with 12-megapixel dual rear camera, one with wide angle lens and the other with Telephoto lens for 2x lossless zoom and 10x digital xoom with ISP algorithm alongwith auto focus and four-axis OIS feature which automatically detects vibrations with accelerometer and gyroscope and calibrates to help and capture blur free pcitures and portrait 3.0 features. it also feature an 8-megepixel front facing camera with support for 1080p video recording at 30fps and slow-mo videos
The Mi 6 smartphone also features front facing Dual speakers which produces stereo effects and is also compatible with the company’s NFC based mobile payment service, Mi Pay. the smartphone is backed by a 3350mAh battery coupled with MIUI optimizations which restricts application from starting up, freezes background data from running and battery saving mode overall making all the effort that the Mi 6 typically lasts for a full day. the smartphone also comes with 2.2 dual WiFi technology which allows for better and wider connectivity. the smartphone is splash resistant
The Mi 6 smartphone also feature a finger print sensor under the glass on the front and the company has discarded the 3.5 mm head phone jack. other connectivity options includes 2G/3G/4G, WiFi, dual SIM support, USB Type-C, and Bluetooth 5.0
The company also announced a Silver Edition of Mi 6 smartphone with Four-sided mirror glass and ultra-reflective metallic finish along with a Blue color variant.
