Sony Mobile, the Japanese smart phone manufacturer has today announced the Sony Xperia XA2Xperia XA2 Ultra along with budget offering Xperia L2 at CES 2018. the USP of both the devices are its 23-megapixel rear cameras with Exmor RS sensors. both, the devices are successor to the company’s last year offering Xperia XA1 and Xperia XA1 Ultra which were announced at Mobile World Congress 2017.


Sony Xperia XA2 specifications

The Sony Xperia XA2 bears a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display with Image Enhance Technology and corning gorilla glass protection. it is powered by an 2.2 GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 630 Mobile Platform paired with 3GB of RAM and Adreno 508 GPU. the device is packed with 32GB on-board storage and supports storage expansion up-to 256GB via MicroSD card. the device also sports a rear facing fingerprint sensor.

On the optics front, the device sports a 23-megapixel rear camera with  Exmos RS sensor, Hybrid Auto-Focus, 84-degree wide-angle and F/2.0 aperture. on the front, there’s an 8-megapixel front camera with 1/4″ Exmor R sensor, 120-degree super wide-angle lens and f/2.4 aperture.

The Sony Xperia XA2 runs on Android 8.0 Oreo update out-of-the box and is backed by a 3,300 mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 and Qnovo Adaptive Charging technology. connectivity option includes dual (Nano) SIM, 4G VoLTE , WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), Bluetooth 5.0, A-GNSS (GPS + GLONASS), Google Cast, NFC, and USB Type-C. it measures at 142 x 70 x 9.7 mm and weights at 171 grams.

The Sony Xperia XA2 is expected to go on sale starting from February 2018 in Silver, Black, Blue and Pink colours option.

The Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra bears a 6-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display with Image Enhance Technology and corning gorilla glass protection. it is powered by an 2.2 GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 630 Mobile Platform paired with 4GB of RAM and Adreno 508 GPU. the device is packed with 32GB/64GB of on-board storage and supports storage expansion up-to 256GB via MicroSD card. the device also sports a rear facing fingerprint sensor.

On the optics front, the device sports a 23-megapixel rear camera with  Exmos RS sensor, Hybrid Auto-Focus, 84-degree wide-angle and F/2.0 aperture. on the front, there’s an dual camera setup which is an combination of 16-megapixel front camera with flash, 1/2.6″ Exmor RS sensor, optical image stabilization 88-degree wide-angle lens and F/2.0 aperture and a 8-Megapixel secondary sensor with 1/4″ Exmor R sensor, 120-degree super wide-angle lens and F/2.4 aperture.

The Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra runs on Android 8.0 Oreo update out-of-the box and is backed by a 3,580 mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 and Qnovo Adaptive Charging technology. connectivity option includes dual (Nano) SIM, 4G VoLTE , WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), Bluetooth 5.0, A-GNSS (GPS + GLONASS), Google Cast, NFC, and USB Type-C. it measures at 163 x 80 x 9.5 mm and weights at 221 grams.

The Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra  is also expected to go on sale starting from February 2018 in Silver, Black, Blue and Gold colour option. the company however has not disclosed the pricing of both the devices. but, whenever that happens we will make sure to update this article. for more information stay tuned in for further updates!
