Oppo, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has announced yet another mid-ranger smartphone in the portfolio of the company’s ‘A’ series dubbed as Oppo A79 in a launch event in China. the device was earlier listed on Chinese certification site TENAA and Chinese Carrier China Telecom with detailed specification, images and pricing.
The Oppo A79 bears a 6-inch OLED (2180 x 1080 p) ‘FullVision’ display with 18:9 aspect ratio. the device sports almost bezel-less on both left and right edges and has thin bezels on top and bottom. it is powered by a 2.5GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P23 processor paired with 4GB of RAM and Mali-G71 GPU. it is packed with 64GB of on-board storage and supports storage expansion up-to 128GB via MicroSD card. the device runs on ColorOS 3.2 operating system based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat update and is backed by a 3,000 mAh battery with the company’s in-house ‘VOOC’ fast charging technology. the device also sports a fingerprint sensor on the rear and comes with Facial recognition technology which unlocks the device with Face ID.
The Oppo A79 sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, F/1.8 aperture, 5P lens, and 1.0μm pixel sensor. it also sports an 16-megapixel front facing selfie shooter with 5P lens and F/2.0 aperture. it also sports different mode including Pro mode, Panoramic Mode and Time-Lapse.
The device also include connectivity options like 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, USB Type-C with OTG support and 3.5mm audio jack. it also on-boards Geomagnetic induction, light sensor, distance sensor, and gravity sensor. the device measures at 157.3 x 76.7 x 7.1 mm and weights at 140 grams.
The Oppo A79 is priced at 2,399 Yuan (approx. Rs. 23,500) in China and is already available for pre-booking from the company’s website. it will go on sale starting from December 1 in Champagne gold, and Black colour options.
