HMD Global is all set to announce its latest offering dubbed as Nokia X5, also called as Nokia 5.1 Plus in China. the device was in news last month when it was listed Chinese certification website TENAA. according to latest leaks, a new poster of Nokia X5 surfaced in China on social networking site Baidu which reveals some vital information about the upcoming device.
As per the poster, The Nokia X5 or Nokia 5.1 Plus is scheduled to launch in China on July, 11 in two storage variants and will sport display notch along with dual rear cameras and rear facing fingerprint sensor. it is expected to price at CNY 799 (approx Rs. 8,250) for the 32GB storage variant, and CNY 999 (approx Rs.10,350) for the 64GB storage variant.
According to TENAA listing, the Nokia X5 or Nokia 5.1 Plus will bear a 5.86-inch ( 720 × 1520 pixels) HD+ 19:9 display with 2.5D curved glass lamination and will be powered by an 2.0GHz octa-core processor. the device will be available in 3GB RAM / 32GB storage, 4GB RAM / 64B storage, 6GB RAM / 64GB storage configurations. all the variants will support storage expansion up to 128GB via MicroSD card slot. it will run on Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the box and will be fueled by a 3,000mAh battery.
In the camera department, the device sports a vertical dual rear camera setup with a 13-megapixel primary sensor with PDAF, and LED flash, paired along with secondary sensor to capture depth-of-field for portrait shots. on the front, there will be an 8-megapixel front facing camera for selfies and video calling. the camera will be capable of capturing 1080 pixel HD video recording.
Connectivity option includes 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS, Micro-USB. onboard sensor includes Gravity sensor, distance sensor, and Ambient light sensor. the device measures at 149.51 x 71.98 x 8.1mm and weighs at 160 grams.
Interestingly, the Baidu poster also revealed information about two new devices, one of which will be powered by Snapdragon 710 and is schedule to announce at the end of September (Q3), possibly at IFA 2018. while, the other a flagship device powered by Snapdragon 845, along with an in-display fingerprint scanner which we think is the recently leaked Nokia A1 Plus, which is also expected to launch by September end.
These leaks, however, are not final the specifications can varies when the device will be announced officially, so take them with a pinch of salt.
