HMD Global, has today finally raised the curtain from its latest offering the Nokia 6 (2018) in China. the device is successor to the the company’s budget offering Nokia 6 which was announced last year in January. the pre-booking of the smartphone has already began and it will go on sale in China starting from January 10. currently, there are no reports about its availability in other markets but we are expecting the company will launched it in India sooner, considering the fact that India is a key market for the Nokia smartphone’s. the device is priced at CNY 1,499 (approx Rs. 14,600) for the 32GB variant and CNY 1,699 (approx Rs. 16,600) for the 64GB variant. both, the variants will be available in Black and Silver colour options.
Nokia 6 (2018) Specification
The Nokia 6 (2018) sports a metal unibody design crafted with 6000 series aluminium frame using two-color anodization process and diamond cutting technology. it bears a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS Display with an 16:9 aspect ratio, 2.5D curved glass display and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. the device is powered by an 2.2 GHz Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 Mobile Platform paired with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and Adreno 508 GPU.
The device is power-housed by a 3,000 mAh battery with Fast charging support and can charge the device up-to 50% in just 30 minutes. it runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the box and is already in the pipeline to receive Android 8.0 Oreo update. the device is available in 32GB/64GB on-board storage options with support for storage expansion up-to 128GB via MicroSD card support.
On the optics front, the Nokia 6 (2018) is packed with 16-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, dual-tone LED flash, Phase detection AutoFocus (PDAF) and a 1.0 um pixel size. on the front, there’s an 8-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture, 84-degree wide-angle lens and a 1.12 um pixel size. the device also brings Dual-Sight technology which was originally launched with the Nokia 8 that uses both rear and front cameras simultaneously to capture pictures and video in a (Bothie) split screen mode.
The Nokia 6 (2018) ditched the capacitive touch buttons which was available in the previous edition in favour of the on-screen navigation buttons and is also packed with fingerprint sensor on the rear unlike its older sibling.
On the connectivity front, the option includes Hybrid Dual SIM (nano + nano / microSD), G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 5, GPS, and USB Type-C. the device measures at 148.8 × 75.8 × 8.15-8.6 mm and weights at 172 grams.
