Lenovo owned Motorola last week launched the Moto Z2 Play smartphone in United States. the device is successor to the popular Moto Z Play which was originally announced last year in August 2016 at IFA Berlin. coming to the pricing and availability it is expected to go on sale starting this summer and will be priced at $499 in the United States.

In a series of tweet, the company has confirmed that the Moto Z2 Play smartphone will launch in India on June 8. the launch event is scheduled to start at 12.00pm IST and will also be live streamed on YouTube. the pre-booking of the smartphone will start on the same day.
The Moto Z2 Play smartphone features a ultra-slim aluminum unibody and is packed with a 5.5-inch Full HD 1080p (1920 x 1080) Super-AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top along with a pixel density of 401PPI. the device is equipped with Motorola Mobile Computing System, including Qualcomm (Octa-Core CPU) Snapdragon 626 processor clocked up to 2.2 GHz paired with Adreno 506 GPU, Natural Language Processor and Contextual Computing Processor. the device is available in two variants differ by storage and RAM – 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage and 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage. it also supports storage expansion upto 2TB via MicroSD card slot.
Coming to the optics, the device sports 12-megapixel rear camera with 1.4 micron pixel sensor with Dual Auto-focus, F/1.7 Aperture, Laser Autofocus (Up to 5 meters), Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), Color Correlated Temperature (CCT), Dual-LED flash, Professional mode and Auto Night mode. on the front, there is 5-megapixel front facing camera with 1.4 micron pixel sensor with Wide-Angle lens, F/2.2 Aperture, Color Correlated Temperature (CCT), Dual-LED flash, Auto Night mode, Beautification software and Professional mode. both, the camera can also shoot video recording upto : 480p (30fps), 720p (120fps), and 1080p (60fps) while the rear camera can shoot 4K resolution videos as well with 30fps.
The Moto Z2 play smartphone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat update and is packed with 3000 mAh battery with support for TurboPower charging which offers up to 8 hours of use in just 15 minutes and charges the device upto 50% charge in 30 minutes. the device is Water repellent and is protected with nano-coating. it also features a Finger print sensor which is embedded on home button.
On the connectivity front the option includes 4GLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4 GHz + 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, USB-C™ port with USB 3.1 support, 3.5mm audio jack, Nano-SIM, Front-ported loud speaker with 3 Mics, NFC, GPS/A-GPS. it also on-boards sensors including Fingerprint sensor, Accelerometer sensor, Ambient Light sensor, Gyroscope, Magnetometer, Proximity sensor and Ultrasonic sensor. the smartphone measures 76.2 x 156.2 x 5.99 mm and weighs at 145 grams. it is available in Lunar Gray and Fine Gold color options.
